In Ukraine, a bill to ban "LGBT propaganda" could be voted soon.
This law would prohibit "to bring informations concerning homosexuality to whoever lives in Ukraine", said Human Right Watch in an official statement.
"Those who support this bill do not protect adults or children, as they protest it, but rather condemn Ukrainians to ignorance, danger and fear", wrote Boris Dittrich, HRW's director on LGBT issues, to the presidents of the Parliament and the freedom of expression and information parliamentary committee.
"If the Ukrainian Parliament adopts this discriminatory and stigmatizing law, Ukraine will alienate the other States, members of the Council of Europe. The legislators should realize that the best way to protect Ukrainians is to respect their rights and not to censure them", he added.
