Illinois Gay And Lesbian Couples Can File Taxes Jointly

Illinois will allow gay and lesbian couples who are in a civil union to be able to file their taxes jointly next year.

However, they will be always obliged to file their federal tax returns separately because, in spite that civil unions are possible in many states, the federal government still did not recognize them.
