A New Amendment To Allow Same-Sex Marriage Will Be Introduced In Australia

Written by

According to the openly lesbian Senator Penny Wong, Australia is about to allow equal marriage.

Fairfax Media has just published the results of a new poll showing that 72% of Australians are in favor of marriage equality.

In addition, Senator David Leyonhjelm announced he will introduce an amendment to change the Marriage Act to include marriage between same-sex people in September but only if Liberal MPs were allowed a conscience vote.

“For those of you who have a problem with homosexuality for some reason or another, we’re not asking for your approval,” Leyonhjelm said.

“We merely ask for your tolerance.”
