Aam Aadmi Party's Mumbai Supports Marriage Equality

Written by

Whereas the elections approaches in India, the Aam Aadmi Party's Mumbai (AAP) affirms that it will support the legalization of marriage equality.

As reports The Times of IndiaThe Times of India, while AAP had advocated scrapping of Section. 377 of the Indian Penal Code criminalising homosexuality, it came in for flak from India's gay community for not including it in its national manifesto.

Despite everything, the AAP was always opposed to the recriminalisation of homosexuality and Lok Sabha* candidate Medha Patkar said that the AAP would support a future law on marriage equality.

Remain to wish that it will keep to its commitments so elected.
