Australian Conservative Party One Nation Suspends Candidate After Anti-LGBTQ Posts

Written by

Shan Ju Lin

After sharing a series of anti-LGBTQ posts on social networks, Shan Ju Lin's candidacy in the Australian One Nation Conservative Party was canceled.

While she was a candidate for a seat in Ipswich, Queensland, Ju Lin published on Facebook very anti-LGBTQ messages like: "Gays should be treated as patients."

After apparently several warnings from the party leaders, the approval of the candidacy of Ju Lin was canceled.

Obviously, this is good news, but it is also quite surprising for a Conservative party like One Nation, some of whom are well known to oppose LGBTQ rights.
