Australian Prime Minister And Leader Of The Conservative Party Tony Abbott Does Not Allow Its Lawmakers A Free Vote On Marriage Equality

Written by

Tony Abbott

Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott has refused to grant a free vote to its MPs on equal marriage.

At a meeting last night, it was decided by the Conservatives to follow the party line which says that a marriage can only be between a man and a woman.

This does not mean that the bill will not be introduced. Indeed, backbencher Warren Entsch will introduce his bill that would open marriage to same-sex couples even if it has almost no chance of being approved.

Abbott said he would nevertheless allow a free vote on the legalization of marriage equality if he is re-elected next year. What blackmail! I think it will be better to change the government and ensure the legalization rather than voting for Abbott and his Conservative party. He will always find, for sure, an excuse not to adopt the law, yet supported by the Australian people.
