Bermuda Has Rejected An Attempt To Ban Marriage Equality

Written by

Senators in Bermuda just rejected an attempt to ban marriage between same-sex people.

Bermuda islands are in fact a British territory not situated far from the East Coast of the United States, which has its own laws and so recently, Bermuda Senate debated a bill that would have qualified marriage as a union between a man and a woman.

Fortunately, the Senators come to reject this law with only a 5-6 votes margin between yes and no.

Last month, voters in Bermuda rejected marriage and civil unions for same-sex couples by referendum.
