In Chile, the anti-discrimination bill has just been signed into law by the President.

The law was approved by Congress in May after seven years of discussion. As reported by The New York Times, President Sebastián Piñera had urged lawmakers to speed its approval after the slaying of Daniel Zamudio in March set off a national debate about hate crimes in Chile.

Then, the United Nations Human Rights Office had also urged Chile to adopt this law. This is now done!
