First meeting for religious group wishing to promote LGBT rights in West Africa

Written by

West Africa

The first ever religious ceremony involving LGBT people took place in West Africa.

About thirty people from West African countries gathered in Ghana at the end of August. They together form an African faith network that accepts LGBT people.

Their first meeting focused on building bridges, sharing stories and creating hope for the LGBT community.

It should be noted that delegates are officially registered in Africa and it is not always easy to officially work for LGBT rights.

Lezbelib also hopes to provide a space for exchanges and meetings, a space where you feel free to be yourself.
