French First Lady Valérie Trierweiler and Secretary of State Christine Taubira Met A Lesbian Couple and LGBT Rights Groups in South Africa

During an official visit of French President François Hollande in South Africa, his partner, Valérie Trierweiler, as well as the Secretary of State for Justice Christiane Taubira (who pushed marriage equality and adoption by same-sex couples laws in France), met a lesbian couple and lunched with representatives of women and LGBT rights associations.

Even if South Africa legalized marriage equality in 2006, to live openly LGBT is almost impossible in this country where discriminations, and especially aggressions, remain common.
