Homosexuality Not Criminal For Ugandan Opposition

Written by

The representative of the opposition in Uganda proposed that homosexuality is not regarded any more as criminal.

Kissa Besigye declared during an interview that homosexuality "generated far too much excitement" considering that "this is something that is done is the privacy of people's room, between consenting adults."

A vote will oppose Kissa Besigye and the current president of Uganda, President Museveni, the next month.

Even if the President does not indicate if he supports the bill who have been introduced and which sentences gay people and sometimes with the death penalty, one of his minister, James Nsaba Buturo, affirmed that he (President Museveni) was not in favor of the capital punishment for gays and lesbians.
