The Indonesian legislature has given the green light to a bill that would ban LGBT behaviors on television.

Indeed, The Jakarta Post reports that Indonesian legislators have submitted a bill that would ban LGBT behaviors. It could be any lesbian, bisexual or transgender characters in TV shows.

The bill is now under discussion in the country's parliament. If voted, and unfortunately there is a good chance that this will happen, a censorship agency will check all television programs and advertisements to make sure that there is no LGBT behavior.

To explain this bill, Supiadin Aries Saputra of the NasDem Party said: "We can’t allow LGBT behavior on TV. It is against our culture.

"We have to ban it early before it becomes a lifestyle. It’s dangerous and can ruin the morality of the younger generation."

So, of course, LGBT groups in the country have condemned the bill.

Indonesia is showing a lot of violence against LGBT people at the moment. A new police raid took place a few days ago, over 50 gay men were arrested.
