In reaction to a UN campaign recently launched, International Relations Expert, Dr. Vladimir Antwi-Danso, would like that Ghana clarifies its laws. Ghana does not clearly criminalize homosexuality but the criminal code defines as criminal "unnatural carnal knowledge".

Like this, he thinks that if the laws are clear on homosexuality and on marriage then nobody will have anything to say.

"We must clearly state what marriage is and if gay marriage is not part of it then the gays cannot marry", he told Radio XYZ.

Recently, a UN campaign was launched which consists in discussing on same-sex unions with the aim in view of obtaining the decriminalisation of gay, lesbian, transgender and transsexual partnerships and sexual orientation across the world.

As explains Ghana Web, the multi-pronged campaign is an unprecedented effort by the Office of the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights to change public attitudes on issues like homosexuality and will include videos and public-service announcements distributed through social media, a new website, a series of fact sheets, and engagement by celebrities well-known in different regions of the world.
