Iraq: LGBT posters appear on the streets of Baghdad

Posters calling for tolerance towards LGBTQ people have been put up in the streets of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

On these posters, we can see the colors of the LGBTQ community, same-sex couples, a heart and a sentence calling for tolerance and equality: "I am equal to you. Difference is the basis of life."

No one knows who put these posters but it took a lot of courage for that.

Indeed, Iraq is one of the most dangerous countries for the community. There are many reports of murders against the community. A report by Human Rights Watch published in 2009 refers to kidnappings, torture, and murders.

Moreover, since 2014, Daesh has invaded Iraq and is carrying out numerous executions of LGBT people.
