Kylie Minogue And Her Fiancé Won't Marry As Australia Has Not Legalized Marriage Equality

Written by

Kylie Minogue Joshua Sasse

Kylie Minogue and her fiancé have just announced that they would not marry as Australia has not legalized marriage equality.

The Australian singer has indeed indicated that she and her fiancé, British actor Joshua Sasse, wanted to get married in Melbourne.

"There are chances of a Melbourne wedding ... [but] we will not get married until this law has passed in Australia," Sasse told Network Seven.

"When I found out that gay marriage was illegal in Australia, I was astounded," he added.

"I simply can’t fathom on any level, whether it’s moral or religious or anything, that I have the right to get married and to marry the person that I love and that somebody else doesn’t because of their sexual orientation."

For the moment, Australia is always towards the holding of a plebiscite on the issue.
