Mozambique Decriminalizes Homosexual Relationships

Unlike most African countries, Mozambique has chosen to decriminalize homosexuality in its new Penal Code.

Today, officially, homosexual relationships are now legal in Mozambique and no longer regarded as a «vice against nature.»

The country joined South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Côte D'Ivoire in particular.

This represents a great victory even if, like in South Africa, it is not because there are rights that the LGBT population is not victim of violence. We should nevertheless hope that change is underway.
