MP Terri Butler To Submit An Equal Marriage Bill In Australian Parliament This Week

In Australia, the Labor party will try to pass a bill on marriage equality in parliament this week.

Indeed, today we learned that MP Terri Butler will introduce a bill to try to pass the equal marriage in Australia and starting this week.

Let's be honest, I'm not sure it will work because the government decided to hold a plebiscite after the elections. Some have also criticized Terri Butler, saying that this attempt could just be a way to get some votes in the elections.

Certainly, it is worth a try, but the agenda for several months seems well defined: First, the elections and then the plebiscite, even if it is useless since we already know that most of the majority of Australians are in favor of a legalization of marriage for same-sex couples. Finally, we can then expect a vote.
