In an interview with The Canadian Press, Ontario’s minister of government and consumer services Tracey MacCharles said the Government will launch gender-neutral birth certificates next year.

The government has planned to work on it this summer. It wants all Canadian provinces to recognize these new birth certificates.

This decision comes after a person, who doesn't identify as male or female, has pushed Ontario to recognize non-binary people.

Ontario already has gender-neutral health cards and gender-neutral drivers' licenses.
