Peruvian Ministry For Justice Approved The Civil Unions Bill

Written by

The ministry for justice of Peru approved a bill which would legalize civil unions between same-sex people.

It is in a report that the good news was announced.

The report says indeed that "the bill is representative, of an essential concretion of the basic rights to the free development of the personality and the equality and not discrimination."

The Peruvian gay and lesbian couples benefiting from no recognition have neither access to the health insurance nor to the social security. They encounter difficulties in the event of death or of hospitalization to assert their existence as a couple.

The Defensoría del Pueblo (the defending counsel) recommended to the Congress to approve the civil unions between same-sex people.
