Queensland Could Legalize Civil Unions

Written by

Queensland, a state of Australia, will probably legalize civil unions.

Its Prime Minister Anna Bligh will allow a free vote and as she said, she expects that the majority of the deputies votes in favor of the law in an "overwhelming" way.

"I’m sure there will be some members of the Labor Party who will be examining their conscience and may take a different view than I do, but I would be surprised if we don’t see an overwhelming majority of Labor members support the bill," she said.
