Rainbow Mahardhika Urges The Indonesian Government To Recognize LGBT People

Written by

The organization Rainbow Mahardhika hopes the Indonesian government will adopt protections against discrimination suffered by LGBT people, particularly in the employment sector.

Adon, a militant of the organization based in Jakarta, said that most LGBT workers were the victim of threats, oppression and discrimination both verbal but also wage.

«Factory LGBT workers regularly get threats and oppression simply because of their sexual orientation,» Adon told CNN Indonesia.

The organization therefore calls on the government to change things, starting with recognizing LGBT people.
