Every year, the Taipei government organizes mass wedding ceremonies. So far, the lack of law, same-sex couples were not invited to be part of them but that will change this year.

Indeed, Xu Li-min, secretary of Taipei city's bureau of social affairs and gender equality office announced that even if there is still no equal marriage law, same-sex couples will be included in this event which will take place in May and October.

Nevertheless Xu Li-min said it remained to be seen if these couples would be associated with heterosexual couples or if the ceremonies would be separated. Not everything is perfect....

Note that Xu Li-min has already helped to provide benefits to gay residents of the city and he promised to raise LGBTI issues with his superiors.
100 couples will marry over the mass weddings.
