The Anglican Church Of Canada Endorses Same-Sex Marriages

Written by

The Anglican Church of Canada has just allowed the performing of marriage between same-sex people in her church.

This decision has not been without some suspense because, after a first round of voting, the result was to the detriment of openness to same-sex marriage. Advocates of the movement to allow these performings within the Anglican Church have then complained, indicating that some votes had not been counted. A second count of votes was therefore made and in the end, we see that the votes were in favor of this opening.

By cons, it was not until 2019 before the new policy is ratified. However, note that already some bishops of the Anglican church said they would perform marriages between same-sex people in their church before 2019.
