Written by

The law allowing civil unions for same-sex couples in Chile advances.

The Senate committee has indeed unanimously approved the bill.

In the form of a contract called the Life Partner Agreement (Acuerdo de Vida en Pareja), the same-sex couples will be legally recognized.

The discussion is also open to allow equal marriage supported by President Michelle Bachelet and Justice Minister Jose Antonio Gomez.
