The Prime Minister Informed The Malaysian LGBT People That They Will Get No Rights In His Country

Written by

Najib Razak

Najib Razak, the Malaysian prime minister, announced at a seminar on moderate Islam, it was no question for his country to make laws for LGBT people.

«Although universal human rights have been defined, we still define human rights in the country in the context of Islam and the syariah,» said Najib according to the Malay Mail. «And even if we cannot defend human rights at an international level, we must defend it in the Islamic context.» Considering LGBT rights were only a very extreme view of human rights.

Phil Robertson of Human Rights Watch said he was shocked by the words of Razak and asks why Malaysia is still part of the United Nations. And we can ask ourselves the same question.
