That's more than 1,000 Cuban LGBT people who marched through the streets of Havana this weekend.

There are many changes taking place in the area of LGBT rights in Cuba. First, although the equal marriage and civil unions are, for the moment, illegal, discrimination of LGBT people was prohibited in employment.

Wedding ceremonies were also held in March to raise awareness about homophobia and transphobia.

LGBT organizations in Cuba now hope to celebrate marriages between same-sex people, real this time, and why not in next March.
