Apple Has Removed The Anti-Gay App

The other day I wrote about Apple which allowed an anti-gay app for iPhone (see An Antigay iPhone Application Has Been Accepted by Apple). Great news! Apple decided to remove it!

After a petition launched on Change.org which was signed by more than 7,000 people who were calling to withdraw the application, and after asking people to contact Apple «send a strong message to Apple that supporting homophobia and efforts to restrict choice is bad business,» Apple has decided to withdraw the anti-gay application.

Just for the record, Apple has donated $100,000 to the campaign «No on Prop 8» in 2008 because «a person's fundamental rights - including the right to marry - should not be affected by their sexual orientation,» the company said.
