With several notable talent already slated to appear on the new show, The Ginni Show is poised to be like genie in a bottle … pure magic!

Ginni Saraswati is the media personality you’ve heard on the airwaves, seen on your TV screens and at many festivals and events around the world.

From Melbourne, Australie, she has been known to stun many a personalitiy with her quick witted introductions and on air antics which left Paula Abdul in a laughing fit and Havana Brown choking! Because indeed, she has already interviewed them all - almost! From KD Lang, Eric Bana, Jennifer Beals, Ruby Rose to Martina Navratilova, Marlee Matlin and Peter Paige, the list goes on.

It’s no wonder this perky and highly entertaining radio host has just been nominated in two categories for the Australian LGBTI Awards 2017: For Journalist of The Year and Broadcaster and Presenter of The Year.

As one of the former co-hosts of one of Melbourne’s most popular morning radio shows Rise Up, for many years she continuously brought sass to the airwaves with fellow co-host and Melbourne comedian Adam Samuel, broadcasting the latest news, and interviews with local & international celebrities, and always having the last word!

Never resting on her laurels, the Aussie media personality, also tackled the world of television hosting regular news and entertainment on Bent TV – Australia and Melbourne’s key LGBT Television Program.

In 2015, Ginni was awarded the International Edward R. Murrow Media Award (USA) for her achievements as an international radio and television journalist both within and beyond the LGBT Community.

Tune into The Ginni Show every Wednesday:

Born in Dehiwala in Colombo, Sri Lanka, a country where homosexuality is still a criminalized act, Ginni grew up as a shy girl with dreams of being a doctor – (like every good Sri Lankan girl)...but she soon discovered she wasn’t too fond of science, and instead loved the Spice Girls. She knew she had to work in an industry where she could have a voice – share stories, and unleash her comedic charms and dance moves on unsuspecting audiences.

Studying Creative Arts & Cinema Studies, Ginni moved into radio journalism after many years acting and writing for theatre.

She joined Australia’s first and only LGBTIQ station, JOY 94.9 in June 2007, and burst onto the scene with her quirky sense of comedy, quick wit, pop-culture and music knowledge - coming to life on the airwaves and growing in to the personality she is today.

As an MC, in 2014 Ginni was invited to co-host the Global Village Stage at the 2014 Aids International Conference – the largest international health conference in the world.

Rubbing shoulders with Bill Clinton and Sir Bob Geldof, Ginni also spent time to chat and interview the ‘grass roots’ voices of the conference, recording and sharing incredible and powerful interviews and stories through her radio program. She wanted to be a voice on air that those could connect to as growing up, she lacked Sri Lankan role models in the public arena.

Based in Melbourne, Ginni has worked in commercial and community Radio & TV for over 10 years working with some of the world’s leading professionals from artists to performers, politicians, influencers and public relations powerhouses in Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane, London, New York, Los Angeles and Toronto.
