GaySA Radio: The First African LGBT Radio

Written by

38 volunteers, mostly LGBT with some straight allies, working in radio or not, launched in Pretoria, South Africa the first African LGBT radio called GaySA Radio.

It's the adventure of 38 people wanting to increase the visibility of LGBT people in Africa that enabled the launch of this radio, which is available for listening on the Internet at the following address: http://gaysaradio.ndstream.net/pc.htm

The programming of the radio is quite varied, there are both discussions around topics like LGBT at work, you can share your daily lives, hear about the latest news, and it is also fun with music and other cultural shows, there are also programs about sex and advices on relationships.

The idea therefore is both to entertain, but also to educate while providing maximum visibility to the LGBT community on the African continent.

We wish long life to this radio and hope that similar projects will start a little bit all over Africa.
