MOREnet Web Filters Stop To Ban LGBT Websites

Written by

MOREnet, Missouri Research and Education Network, which provides the famous filtering software has decided that their filters would not block the access to the LGBT websites anymore.

The director of MOREnet, John Gillespie, explains that "there were things going on with the filter that were not intended."

So from now on only the pornographic content will be blocked.

In a statement, ACLU, American Civil Liberties Union, which launched a campaign "Don’t Filter Me" to remove all the web filters which block the access to LGBT websites in schools, hopes "that other schools and libraries follow MOREnet’s example and make sure that their filtering systems are not accidentally configured to block non-sexual websites that relate to LGBT people."
