A New Poll Shows Support For Marriage Equality On The Rise In Ireland

Written by

We approach the year 2015 and therefore the referendum on equal marriage in Ireland. A new poll shows that support for the bill continues to grow.

One week ago, the Irish bishops published a statement opposing the equal marriage, saying it was a "grave injustice." (for whom?)

Fortunately, the Irish don't seem to have the same view since a recent poll shows that support for equal marriage now stands at 71% with only 17% of opposition, 9% without opinion and 3% who refuses to answer.

It seems that the working class and farmers are more opposed to the law contrary to the middle class and women.

The referendum will take place in Spring 2015.
