With 390 votes against 148, the Lords rejected an amendment aiming at stopping the British marriage equality bill.

It is a first victory which has took place even if the same-sex marriage bill is not yet completely voted, it will be discussed again by the Lords.

Prime Minister David Cameron continues to push for the legalization of marriage equality in mid-2014 in England and in Wales.
