Church In Wales Launches Consultation To Decide Whether To Allow Same-Sex Marriages

The Church in Wales will decide whether it should perform marriages between persons of the same sex and therefore launched a consultation to make a choice.

At a meeting of the church, the Archbishop of Wales Dr Barry Morgan announced that during the next 12 months, the six dioceses of this church will give their opinions on various topics:

Is the church must allow same-sex wedding, can it bless homosexual relationships, or should it maintain its current position?

Note that the current law, passed last year, allows religious freedom and therefore prohibits the Church in Wales to perform same-sex marriages.

If the church took a favorable decision to the marriage equality, a new law should then be submitted to Parliament to allow the Church in Wales to perform same-sex weddings.
