Isle Of Man Allows Civil Partnership

Written by

Good news for the Isle of Man, lesbian and gay couples can apply for a civil partnership, it will start to be possible next week.

The couples will be able to appreciate the same tax, heritage and right with the allowances than straight couples.

“Starting from April 6th, the possible civil associates will be able to begin the procedures which will lead finally to them signing a civil program of association, and this point ahead the law will identify their association.” said Ian Gilmore, the assistant chief registrar.

It is a great step for the Isle of Man because, still in 1992, homosexuality was illegal.
