Italian Deputies Didn't Pass Gay Protection Bill

Written by

In Italy, the Parliament voted against a bill which protect from discrimination based on the gender identity and the sexual orientation.

With 293 votes against 250, the Italian deputies refused to provide more protections to the LGBT community.

"Italy already bans discrimination on the grounds of race, religion, ethnicity and nationality but campaigners say rising numbers of homophobic and transphobic attacks means LGBT people need more protection," as reports an associated press.

The Chamber is held by conservatives so we could not expected that they pass the law.
