The study "I am so I work" wanted to clearly quantify the discrimination in employment and the results reveal that 13% of gays did not obtain a job because of their sexual orientation and it is worst for transgenders with 45% of discrimination in the 10 last years.
More than one quarter of the people questioned prefer to hide their sexual orientation at work, 70% of gays and lesbians.
"Discrimination seems obvious, as obvious as it is unacceptable in a society like ours," said Paola Concia, a deputy openly lesbian.
Concia will push besides the anti-homophobia and transphobia bill again. Rejected in July, it will be studied at the end of September again.
