Malta could legalize marriage equality shortly

Written by

There is a good chance that Malta will approve the marriage equality bill that is being drafted.

Indeed, at the beginning of the week, MZPN (Nationalist Party Youth Movement) and FOIPN (Equal Opportunities Forum in the Nationalist Party) gave their support to the bill believing that marriage is a civil right for all.

At the present time, same-sex couples receive the same rights as heterosexual married couples through the Civil Partnership Act, but still don't have the right to marry.

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat also said several times that he supports the bill.
