Moldavia Parliament To Study Anti-Discrimination Bill

Written by

In Moldavia, the Parliament will discuss on a bill which will ban the discrimination based on sexual orientation.

Unfortunately, for the moment, this bill does not provide protections for transgenders and Human Rights Watch would like that the law evolves to the complete protection of the LGBT community:

"It is clear that a complete anti-discrimination law should really be complete", said the director of the organization.

"To let a vulnerable group like the trans one apart from this essential law is to let them without protection in their daily life. (...) Inclure the gender identity in the new law would send the message that equality is really for everyone", he added before to conclude that it will be "practically impossible for Moldavia to control and repair any direct or indirect discrimination based on gender identity".
