The Church Of Scotland Accepts LGBT Ministers And Deacons, But Refuses To Conduct Same-Sex Weddings

The Church of Scotland has just taken its decision on the equal marriage. It has agreed to open its doors to LGBT people, but nevertheless it decided to retain the definition of marriage as a union between a man and a woman.

The Church of Scotland is a Presbyterian Church, which counts about 400,000 members.

There has therefore been talk in recent years to open the church to LGBT people and to perform marriages between same-sex people.

We saw that the Presbyterian churches of South Africa and the United States also recently changed their policies to allow opening of equal marriage.

It's still stupid to recognize the same-sex marriage of gay or bisexual ministers and deacons, but to refuse to perform these same unions.
