At a meeting of European parliamentarians in Riga, Latvia, the Vice-President of the European Commission Frans Timmermans warned against anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and homophobia, inviting gay people not to remain in obscurity otherwise Europe will have no future.

«There is a growing anti-Semitism, a rise of Islamophobia and homophobia", denounced Frans Timmermans during this meeting.

«There are people who disagree with the position of women in European society. This is not acceptable. We have to put the State of law at the center of our policy debates, because if we do not have that, we have nothing. (...) If the Jews in this Europe cannot feel at home, Europe is over. If the Jews believe that their future is not in Europe, Europe has no future, and this also applies to Muslims and other minorities.

«If gay people think they have to remain in obscurity, we have no future for Europe.»

Often in history when there were crises, extreme thoughts arose. This is currently the case, and it is essential to fight against.
