The Marriage Equality Bill Was Rejected In Andorra

Written by

Andorra will not have an equal marriage law yet. The proposition was rejected by the Parliament.

The members of parliament indeed voted not to discuss the bill which would have opened marriage equality to the same-sex couples.

Despite everything, another bill which would allow this time the civil unions was then introduced but for the moment, the Parliament did not decide about it.

Andorra started to recognize the same-sex unions in 2005 when the principality adopted a domestic partnership law. However, the rights are not the same ones as for the married couples and the adoption is not possible.
