UK LGBT Couples Want To Get The Equal Civil Marriage

Written by

A lesbian couple and seven other couples planning to go to court in order to obtain a civil marriage license.

Sharon Ferguson and Franka Strietzel were refused a marriage in London, they decided to go to court to overturn the ban with the help of the LGBT rights activist Peter Tatchell and other gay and heterosexual couples.

The law of the United Kingdom only gives the right to a civil partnership which gives an equal legal treatment in areas such as inheritances and next-of-kin arrangements.

So gay and lesbian couples cannot get married and heterosexual couples can not register a civil partnership.
