Go Purple For The 2015 Spirit Day!

Written by

This Thursday, October 15 will be GLAAD's annual Spirit Day during which you are encouraged to wear purple to show your support for LGBTQ youth and to stand up against bullying.

Many individuals, celebrities, companies, media, and organizations supports the initiative launched by high school student Brittany McMillan in response to many suicides of LGBTQ youth that have marked our community in 2010.

Every year, backed by GLAAD, the Spirit Day gathers millions of people worldwide.

According to a GLAAD's report on bullying released this year, more than half of LGBTQ students feel unsafe in their school and 49% of LGBTQ youth are bullied on social networks!

Join in this Spirit Day, go purple, change your Twitter, Facebook and Instagram profiles in purple, use the hashtag #SpiritDay to show to LGBTQ youth in the world that you support them.
