New York Gay Pride to air on TV!

Written by

Be aware that the New York Gay Pride will be broadcast live on television.

The organizers of the New York Gay Pride, which will be held on Sunday, June 25, have entered into a partnership with WABC-TV New York which will broadcast live this 48th pride march.

Remember that in 1969, the first LGBT people demonstrated in New York in response to the police's incessant raids. The very first Gay Pride was born. In 2017, it will be broadcast live on television, it is exceptional!

"WABC-TV will broadcast the annual trek down Fifth Avenue from Noon – 3 p.m. on Channel 7 and also stream the event on its website,," NYC Pride Managing Director Chris Frederick explained.

"This important new partnership comes at a time of political and social turmoil in many communities.

"We’re excited to have tri-state viewers welcome us into their homes for what will be an unprecedented opportunity for the LGBT community’s collective voices to be heard."

ACLU will lead the New York parade. ACLU has always helped us in the battle for equality and has brought a lot of victory in recent years. The association continues to resist our side against the Trump administration.

"The American Civil Liberties Union has been the United States’ uncompromising defender of individual rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution for nearly 100 years," Frederick added.

"The ACLU brought its first LGBT rights case in 1936, brought the first case seeking the freedom to marry for same-sex couples in 1970, litigated the Supreme Court cases that took down the Defense of Marriage Act that won marriage equality nationwide, and represented transgender student Gavin Grimm before the Supreme Court.”

This year, the great marshals will be three:

  • Brooke Guinan, a 29-year-old trans activist and firefighter
  • Krishna Stone, one of the Gay Men’s Health Crisis exec
  • Geng Le, a Chinese LGBT activist and the creator of hook-up app Blued

Happy Pride month!!!
