New Mayor Against Moscow Gay Pride

Moscow has a new mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, unfortunately this one is not for gays and lesbians, he has for exemple confirmed the prohibition of Gay Pride marches in the city.

After a couple of turbulent years Mardi Gras is back to its old form. In 2006 Conde Nast named it as one of the world’s top ten costume parades in the world. Meanwhile Planetout named it as the best gay event in the world. In 2008, the Sydney, Australia celebrated it’s 30th Anniversary for it’s Mardi Gras. In 2009 they produced the largest ever Parade with almost 10,000 participants.
