The first Gay Pride in Ukraine took place a few days ago despite a court's decision which ruled the organization of such a gathering could cause acts of violence.

Last year, the Gay Pride was cancelled because of threats of violence.

This year, a court decided the Gay Pride should not be organized after anti-gay groups did everything for broken gathering of LGBTQ people in Georgia and Russia as reports Reuters.

But a spokeswoman for the organizers said activists would find another way to express "our protest, our view on what is going on with human rights in Ukraine" and a few days ago, the first Gay Pride took place in Ukraine.

Amnesty International had urged the Ukrainian government to pass a law to fight against discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.

A similar law, which has to protect LGBT workers, recently did not pass the Parliament.
