Uganda Pride

After the Constitutional Court of Uganda repealed the law harden sanctions against homosexual people, LGBT Ugandans have challenged the government by organizing their first Gay Pride.

"This is an opportunity to get together. Everybody had to hide because of the law against homosexuality," said one of the organizers of the rally, Sandra Ntebi, as reports Europe 1.

"This is a day of celebration for all of us," she added appreciating that the police allowed the event dubbed "Uganda Pride".

The same day, an appeal of the decision of the court was filed by the government.
