Co-produced by Jon Evans (Tori Amos, Sarah MacLachlan), LOVE NEVER DIES is an eclectic indie rock exploration of why we're here, how we love and the dreams that give us life. From the 70s rock, 80s alt pop, and classical piano of her childhood to the Indian chanting and righteous poet-rockers of her adult listening, Stott has woven single-worthy tracks into a three, even four dimensional musical experience. LOVE NEVER DIES has unstoppable force and varied range, making this the most expansive and sonically personal work that Stott has recorded to date.
«We Are Here», the first single off the album, is an alt rock anthem, a declaration of existence. With a driving beat that grows out of Stott’s opening piano pattern, «We Are Here» boldly faces the struggle to know it’s good we’re alive and transforms into the wonder and beauty that struggle can produce.
«No Words» hits hard as a piano-based pop rock drama complete with a guitar and strings spiral into the madness of broken love.
«I’ve Known Your Name Before» alternates between a low beating hush and choruses of rich electric guitar hum to share those precarious moments when we first see ourselves in someone else’s eyes.
But LOVE NEVER DIES is more than just a collection of songs. The instrumental opening and the spoken word explosion, the chant-inspired three-act dreamscape and the lullaby outro take us from introspection to exultation with the abandon of the concept album of years gone by. LOVE NEVER DIES is 70s album magic for the 21st century.
