Five transgender athletes tell their quest for identity through sport

The "Identity" series introduces five trans athletes and tackles the quest for their true identity through sport.

It is important to know that before 2016, transgender athletes could not openly practice their sport without having to undergo gender reassignment surgery.

"Identity" is broadcasted on the Olympic channel. It consists of five episodes for five transgender athletes: Chloe Anderson, Pat Manuel, Harrison Browne, Chris Mosier, Schuyler Bailar.

Through their inspiring testimonies, these athletes talk about the role that sport has to get to know each other better and to understand their true identity.

In the first episode, which you can watch below, we discover Chloe Anderson, a volleyball player who has been accepted in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). She has joined the Santa Cruz volleyball team at the University of California.
