2020 democratic presidential candidates forum

 

This fall, the HRC Foundation and the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs will organize a debate between the 2020 Democratic presidential candidates on LGBTQ issues.

This forum, which will take place on October 10, will allow candidates to present their programs to improve the lives and rights of LGBTQ people.

A new survey shows that 64% of California students are bullied. It’s way too much! State legislators have therefore introduced a bill to provide teacher training and funds to school districts to develop anti-bullying tools for LGBTQ+ students.

A survey conducted by the Centre for LGBTQ+ Inclusion in Education at Leeds Beckett University reveals that 40% of LGBT teachers have faced bullying in the United Kingdom.

70% Of LGBT Students Bullied In Japan

A survey, conducted by Inochi Risupekuto Howaito Ribon Kyanpen, a group based in Tokyo which fights against the suicide of LGBTQ people, shows that 70% of people known as belonging to a sexual minority in Japan, and in particular to the LGBT community, were victims of bullying in school and 30% even thought to commit suicide.

In Anoka-Hennepin School District, conservative Christian parents ask teachers to teach about the "ex-homosexual" movement and "gay-related immune deficiency". They would like the policy prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity is not applied thinking it would open the schools to pro-homosexual teaching, so they want discriminations towards LGBTs continue.
